The Karen Read trial reaches another critical point as the medical examiner’s testimony could play a major role in the Commonwealth’s case. In this episode, STS examines the medical evidence, the testimony surrounding John O’Keefe’s cause of death, and whether it can help prosecutors strengthen their case. Is the medical examiner’s testimony the Commonwealth’s best hope in the Karen Read trial?
Key Points:
The Karen Read trial continues to turn on disputed evidence and competing theories surrounding the death of Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe. STS breaks down the medical examiner’s testimony and examines whether the medical evidence could give the Commonwealth a much-needed boost. Can expert testimony answer key questions about how O’Keefe died and support the prosecution’s theory? Or will the defense raise enough questions to create reasonable doubt? The Karen Read trial has already featured intense scrutiny of investigators, witnesses, and forensic evidence, making the medical examiner’s testimony especially important. STS examines the strongest points, the challenges for both sides, and what jurors could take away as the Karen Read trial moves toward its conclusion.
